Sing for Pleasure is delighted to launch its programme of conductor training specifically for young ethnic minority musicians.
We are determined to see the music world better reflect this country’s diverse ethnic landscape and this programme will give talented young ethnic minority musicians an insight into conducting or vocal leadership as a career, and how that could look. SfP has provided high quality tuition in conducting skills and technique for over 50 years and is the largest trainer of choral conductors and vocal leaders in this country. For the last couple of years, 100% of respondents have rated our training as good to excellent so you’re in the best hands. This day will give you the key skills to lead singing (and playing) in an efficient, effective and musical way and you will leave with lots of music and skill resources to support you with your potential future leadership activities in this field.
The course starts at 10.00am with arrival from 9.30am. The day will consist of a series of technique sessions and practical workshops where students will be able to develop their skills using simple repertoire. Students will sing for each other and all music will be provided. The ability to read music is desirable but not essential.
